Welcome to Friedman Middle School! At Friedman, we recognize that middle school is a unique and important time in a student's educational journey. During these years, students learn not only content within the classroom, but they also learn what motivates them, what inspires them, and most importantly, what brings them joy.
Therefore, our educators work to meet the needs of all students by holding high expectations and standards while also building relationships with the intention to allow all students to reach their full potential as learners. We support our students to take academic risks within the classroom by asking questions, taking chances, and learning from mistakes, for we believe that it is through these risks that students become learners.
Outside of the classroom, we encourage our students to get involved within our thriving school community. For many of our students, it is the first time that they will dribble a basketball, write an article for a school’s literary magazine or play a part in a school play. These experiences coupled with learning within the school empower our students to both build confidence and create lasting memories as students at Friedman.
As a school community, we recognize that a partnership between school and home is critical if students are to grow and thrive during their time with us. We encourage our families and caretakers to stay engaged in their child’s progress by maintaining a line of communication with us: attend open houses, join our FPE group, or contact us through email or phone. Through our partnership, I know that we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to grow and thrive while at our school.
We are so excited to partner with you and your family during your child’s time with us, and we look forward to celebrating your student’s accomplishments in the months and years to come as they continue their academic journey at Friedman Middle School.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sarah Ann Buckley
Principal of Friedman Middle School
